England booked their spot in the final of the ICC World T20 2016 with a comprehensive 7 wickets win over New Zealand at Delhi on Wednesday.

Eoin Morgan won the toss for England, and opted to field first, sighting the dew threat as the main contributor to his decision. Martin Guptill came out swinging for the Blackcaps during his 15 off 12 balls before trying one big shot too many and was caught by behind by Butler. Williamson played his usual anchor knock, struggling during the middle overs during his 32 off 28 balls. Munro was the top scorer for New Zealand, opting to use his feet to the spinners during his aggressive knock of 46 off 32 balls. New Zealand were well on target for 170 plus, but the England death bowling had other ideas. Jordan and Stokes were spot on during the final few overs, managing to restrict the Blackcaps to 153/8 after 20 overs. Taylor, Ronchi, Elliott and Santner who are all known for their big hitting down the order failed with the bat when they were needed most in a semi-final. Jordan was the best bowler for England, ending with figures of 1/24 from his 4 overs.

England got off to a lighting start, smashing 67 runs in the power play overs mainly thanks to the bat of Jason Roy who went on to top score for England with eye catching 78 off 44 balls. England were given a slight scare in the 13th over when Sodhi struck a double blow to dismiss both Morgan and Roy. Root kept his head to guide England over the line with 27 off 22 balls, while Butler did the big hitting towards the end with 32 off just 17 balls to get England the win with 17 balls still remaining.
