South Africa continued their good form, recording their second win on their tour of India with yet another convincing performance in the 2nd T20. South Africa won the match by 6 wickets after dominating with both bat and ball.
Faff u Plessis won the toss for South Africa, and invited India to bat first. The pitch showed plenty of pace from the outset, with the South African new ball attack getting plenty of bounce. Dhawan and Sharma got India off to a reasonable start, putting on a opening partnership of 28 runs after 4 overs. Dhawan was the first man dismissed when he was trapped lbw by Morris with his score on 11 off 12 balls. South Africa were red hot in the field, managing to run out both Kohli and Sharma to break the back of the Indian top order. Suresh Raina looked in good form, getting to 22 off 24 balls before falling victim to Imran Tahir. Dhoni, Patel and Harbhajan Singh failed to make any impression in the middle order, as South Africa bowled India out for just 92 runs in the 18th over. Albie Morkel was excellent in the latter overs, ending with 3/12 from his 4 overs, he will be very pleased with his return to international cricket.
India opened the bowling with spin, which proved the right decision as Ashwin dismissed Amla in the 2nd over. Du Plessis and de Villiers got the innings back on track before du Plessis lost his wicket off the last delivery of the power play for 16 off 14 balls. De Villiers played some extravagant shots before perishing with his score on 19 off 21 balls. Play was interrupted with some crowd issues, as bottles were thrown onto the field, the crowd clearly not happy with the Indian performance. After a lengthy delay it was the bats of Miller and Duminy that got South Africa over the line in the 18th over.
