Expect plenty of fireworks when Pakistan take on Bangladesh in the 8th match of the Asia Cup 2016. A win for Bangladesh will give them one foot in the final, while a loss for Pakistan will effectively leave them with no chance to make the final.

The teams have met on 8 previous occasion in the T20 format, with Pakistan winning 7 of the meetings. This will give them plenty of confidence, but they will know they are up against an in-form Bangladesh team and will have to pull out all the stop to keep their record intact.

Bowling will have to reply on their quality bowling attack, as the batting has been way below par this far. Mohammad Amir has been the start of the tournament, having bowled 8 overs for just 24 runs and picking up 5 wickets. Together with Sami and Irfan they form a formidable combination, and will be a huge weapon in the upcoming World T20. Pakistan showed some good grot against the United Arab Emirates after their poor showing against India. The return of form for Umar Akmal and Shoiab Malik will be vital in their shaky batting line-up. If the likes of Hafeez and Khan can replicate this at the top of the order, Pakistan will be a hard team to beat going forward.

A win over Sri Lanka last time out will have boosted the confidence levels of the Tigers to new heights. Sabbir Rahman was excellent with the bat in hand, and will hope for more of the same against Pakistan, although he will have to do this against a much stronger bowling unit. Despite not having plenty of wicket-taking bowlers in their side, Bangladesh have the ability to starve the opposition of runs with quality bowling and fielding. Al Hasan and Mustafizur in particular has shown the ability to dry things up in the middle overs, and this will be a key contest within the contest.

On paper Pakistan should have enough firepower to topple the Tigers, but they have to remain composed, particularly with bat in hand.
